‘Ik heb in Tantra geleerd om veel minder mijn best te doen’
Ik dook op mijn 30e in het diepe door zonder enige ervaring met meditatie of lichaamswerk mee te doen aan een Tantra retraite. Ik miste iets essentieels in mijn leven en zei impulsief ja.
Ik zie me nog zitten in de kring, bij die eerste meditatie. Ik keek rond en ik voelde me heel zichtbaar. Bang om iets te zeggen. Ik had mezelf aangeleerd om te verstoppen wat ik werkelijk voelde. Ik had een buitenkant gecreëerd waarvan ik dacht dat dát was wat mensen wilden zien.
Tantra nodigde me uit om wél te laten zien wat ik werkelijk dacht of voelde. Voor mij was dit de wereld op zijn kop. Een radicale bevrijding.

Ik ontdekte dat ik wel een beeld had van wat seks voor mij betekende, maar dat ik niet wist wat intimiteit was. Wat super logisch is, want als ik mijzelf niet kan toestaan om mijzelf te zijn, hoe kan ik dan intiem zijn met mezelf of met een ander?
